Classification: Query
Surnames: Fannin, Fanning, Fannon, Fannen
Dear Mickey,

Information on the project can be found by going to:
www.familytreedna.com. Then type in the surname Fanning in the box at the upper right corner. Next click on the underlined name of Fanning. Then type in: www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/f/fanning/
or just go directly to this last site.

The project is for all Fannings,Fannins, Fannons, Fannens, etc. Only males carrying the surname will be able to be tested, but anyone can sponser such a male descendant.

The project administrator is Catherine Fanning Stoppel. She
can be contacted at pstoppel@wvi.com.

The procedure is easy and only takes a couple of swab samples from the inside of the cheek. The test kit price varies with how detailed a report you want. Most have been using the y-dna 37 markers kit that costs about $189. There are less expensive tests and some that are more expensive. For me the 37 marker seemed best at this time.

I hope you know a Fannin (Fanning, etc) male that will be willing to participate. The more we have tested the greater the results.

Would you mind sharing your Fannin heritage with me?

Regards,

Pat Fannin
