I have been stuck for years on the Wright family in TN or NC.

I am researching John Jackson Wright, b. abt 1795 in TN. But TN at this time was part of NC and also an independent state, so the records got shuffled around a lot. He died in 1846 in Polk Co., MO.

He married a Jane ???. Possible last names are Smith or Brown. Jane is believed to be from Seneca, Oconee Co., SC. They were believed to have been married in TN abt 1820.

Their first child, Annie Wright, married Isaac Brown who executed his will in MO. I believe that there may have been a strong family association between the Wright's and Brown's in TN. A second daughter also married a Brown. Their father was Hiram Brown.

I have found a James Wright in Greene Co., TN. There was also a Brown whom he operated a mill with. He had a son John Wright, but I can not find a definitive link indicating that this James Wright is the father of the John Wright I have.

Any assistance to breakout of this deadend would be appreciated.

There was a Wright Family out of NC that came into Wilson Co. TN. They have not been researched very well. I have done some on them and it is posted at Rootsweb. Some of them then went to Williamson Co. TN. Might be a place to look. Most of the Wrights I can find who came into this area were born 1775-1800 time frame. Marie

My 3greats grandfather was Lewis Wright, b: Sept 21, 1792 in Nash Co, NC d: March 10, 1872 in Rural Hill,TN which is a part of Wilson County, TN. He married a Temperance Eddings in 1821. Their son was John W. Wright who married Elizabeth Tennessee Puckett in 1852. Their son was Paul Anderson Wright and he married Mollie Gray Peach Dec 24, 1879. Their daughter was my ggrandmother Ollie Belle Wright Boyd. There is a web site called, I think, The Wilson County Depot, and their is a section called Biographies and under that is alot of Wright information. I have other info also. I think I can go back another 3 generations from Lewis but not documented. I would be glad to share what I have. Vicki

I have seen your family in research. I am looking at three women I believe are sisters. Elizabeth E. Wright, b. abt. 1813, Charolette E. Wright b. abt. 1813 and Lucy Anderson Wright b. abt. 1803. Lucy married Henry Hulme and Charolette married his half brother, John W. Hulme. Elizabeth E. Wright married Alexander Roach. All the Wright girls married in Wilson Co. TN in the 1820's and 1830's.

I am interested in the marriage of Elizabeth E. Wright to Alexander Roach and who her parents are. I am trying to find who her and Alexander's children are and who her parents are? Marie

Go to Marriages under Topics on the left side of the screen and 1820. In the 1820 census there were a number of Rights listed. Is that a mis-spell on the census takers part?

I am not familiar with George Wright. I know of the three sisters and I am sure they had more siblings, but I have not been able to tie any siblings to them. The sisters were out of Wilson County, TN, however two of them, Lucy and Charloette moved to Williamson County, TN after marriage.

I have information on the Wrights in Polk County, Missouri and the Browns and related families. Happy to share.

I am looking for information on william wright of oneida tennessee.

I have a William Wright with spouse Liz and children Thomas, Robert, William listed for 1900 Scott, TN.
They moved on to AR, Yell county for 1910 census.
There were also 2 daughters, Alice and Minnie from what I have located so far.

Any of this sound like the same William Wright family you are working on?
