Suggestions I received today from Customer Support to repair a corrupted database file can be found at:

http://ancestry.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5146

They included compacting the file while it is closed (which resulted in the first time I hit the magical 0%); exporting the entire file using the Extended Family Chart (my efforts keep failing); uploading then downloading the file to Ancestry.com (problematic if you have Census or other images created from Ancestry records...these media won't survive) or exporting to a gedcom (only if you don't have media to worry about). I am still try to shake out my database bug, hopefully these might be more successful for you.
