Have searched further back from my last postings and have now found that my Highet's may descend from the Highet's of the Kilmarnock, Ayr region of Scotland. Am descended from John Highet and Margaret Ferguson who had 9 children being Robert, Margaret, Janet, John, Thomas, Mary, William, Marion, Hugh and David.
Robert and William Highet were both builders and immigrated to New Zealand.

on the 27 Nov 1860
