My name is James Vergura. My brother Michael and I spent 2 years in Sacret Heart, Kearney from mid 1950 thru late 1952. We also spent 3 years in St. Mary's Orphange, Newark NJ, from mid 1947 thru mid 195o, when we were transferred to Sacred Heart. After reading some of the posting, some of the names sound a little familiar. I was about 12 years old and my brother was 11. I remember some of the nuns in Sacred Heart were rather mean at times.
