Hi Katherine,
I'm descended from Sarah's brother Richard and thereafter from his daughter Sarah! Richard came to the Merthyr valley in the 1880s (to work in the coalmines)which is where I grew up but I've lived in Cardiff for the last 30 years. My father's sister Nancy still lives there however - she's 87 and her middle name is Bonner. In the Spring I'm hoping to travel with her to W.Wales to the Ceredigion archive and also to see the grave of Hugh & Jane at Eglwys Newydd (have already visited it once. The inscription is in Welsh of course but fairly easy to decipher and the churchyard is beautiful.) Will let you know when we're going, it's a long way from London but you might feel like it...
How amazing to have one of Ann Valentine's possessions.
Very best wishes,
Deborah.
