Hi Teresa-
I do a lot of research and Faherty has been the most rewarding and fruitful name by far. There is so much interest for such a unique name.
We have had several reunions in Ruma Illinois. They were all a lot of fun and well attended. Many of us have gone back to Ireland in search of our roots and have met a few wonderful Fahertys there too. I walked a bunch of graveyards as well;).

We also have a genetic study using FTDNA (family tree DNA) on the Faherty Y chromosome which has been interesting. Some of our closest relatives seem to have gained an "L" to become Flahertys in the US.
It is always good to hear from a Faherty.
