This may be pure coincidence but I am trying to find the James Cutler born in Portsea c.1788 who became a bricklayer. He married a Sarah (maiden name unknown) around 1815 presumably. His children are Ann, c.1816; William, c.1818; James, c.1820; and Eliza, c.1825.
I see that William Cutler, son of Thomas and Martha Bean had a younger brother James whose dates might tally.
James moved to Newington and is recoded there on the 1841 census [as Cutter] (HO107/1063/3/folio 31, page 11) at Frederick Place, Newington; he was still in Newington in 1851 (HO107/1568/folio 148, page 53) by which time he was 63. I cannot trace him or Sarah in 1861 or 1871 but their son William Henry and his family appear first in Wandsworth and later in Vauxhall, Lambeth in 1871.
