HI, The Orphanage was divided into a girls side & a boys side. I was in the boys side and had no contact with the girls side. There were about 100 girls and I am sure many had black hair. I know a girl that was there in 1950. If I had a first name from you I could check.Although a 4 year old would have been in the little girls side. my contact would have been about 9years at that time and in the big girls side. Some one posted a post card pic. about 1 year ago on this site. The orphanage closed in the early 70's because there were not enough children I believe. A Franciscan nun is a person that belonged to the Catholic Franciscan order of sisters. They operated the orphanage.
You can contact the Archdiocese of Denver, Colorado TELF.(303)-742-0823 X 600 W/Ms.Mc Elheny for more info.
