Unless they deal with the problem of memory management, moving to 64 bit will only increase the amount of memory to be grabbed. The question that needs to answered is what is it about the FTM coding that is so memory greedy, whilst I am running my database in Reunion with 48.8MB.
Interestingly the Mac version can only run on 64bit machines and not older Macs, but they still compiled it as a 32 bit program.
