Your perspective on how they assign names is certainly something I will think about.
Is there any reason why we can't be allowed to provide alternate names?
What am I suppose to do when I am given a name match and the person in the other tree turns out to be entirely fictional as I have experienced more than once. Or the names are provided but for the wrong side of the family? Or when the surnames conflict with other surnames also provided by ancestry? Or when a name is left out of the shared surnames that should be there but is actually shown in the direct lines for both trees? Or when I build my tree to that person's name match or they build to mine?
If there are no constraints on the names, let us provide alternates. Or if there are constraints tell us what they are.
