No, you're not understanding.
This thread was started in 2011. The original issue in 2011 had nothing to do with the connection outage that lasted a few days in Jul 2012.
If you've recently updated your OS are just installed the program, run a verify and repair permissions on your machine.
Restart your Mac, when you hear the chime, hold down *command* and *R* until the Apple appears, then wait until the machine boots and a menu appears on your screen, choose *Disk Utility* and run verify permissions, then repair permissions.
See if that doesn't make your issue go away.
I highly recommend turning auto-sync OFF. Manually sync only, and choose the optimal time to sync. Ancestry has known server issues, don't shoot the messenger.
