If he was from Ridgefield he would have been part of the 9th Regiment Connecticut Militia covering Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich and Ridgefield towns. I haven't been able to find any mention of the actual units involved in the battle, but it was a small force of regulars supplemented by local militia. It would seen likely that the Ridgefield company would have been involved as the running battle moved through the town. Maybe the Connecticut Sons of the American Revolution website could offer some info or you could post a question to them.
