Classification: Query
Surnames: Preston
I have an Ensign Jacob Preston who is listed as being on page 505 of The Record Connecticut Men in the Military and Naval Service During the War of the Revolution 1775-1783, Vol. I-III, Hartford CT., by Henry P. Johnson.
This Ensign Jacob Prestonwas in Militia Service in 1777 in Connecticut serving under Captain Isaac Ston's Company.
Through a DAR listing I also learned the following:
"Jacob Preston, (1732-1806) served as ensign in the nothern campagne and was at the surrender of (British General) Burgoyne. He was born in Windham, died in Hampton, Conn." Report from DAR ID # 28191
Do you know how to obtain his service record from the State of CT. or if the National Archives would have his record or any information?
Thanks for your help.
John
