Hi! I too have been doing research on the Pattersons. I remeber that there is a family grave yard in Grayson County in which we had a family reunion back in the 1980's. As we walked the grounds we came accross a head stone that was dated in the 1690's. There is a legend that has been told in the family that the original family sailed here from Ireland some time before the pilgrims and were shipwrecked. There are no dates and locations or any documents to prove this. I hope this helped.
