MSSRW vs Lineage Seies & Heitman's Register

OK...here I go again; Joseph Read of Uxbridge was promoted to Colonel during the siege of Boston. MSSRW suggests his Regiment was the 20th throughout the period of the siege. But Knight's lineage series & Heitman's Register both call it the 13th Continental Regiment. FWIW, Read's Rgt was "adopted" into the Continental Army on 14 June 1775 so I'm tempted to call it the 20th Mass pre-14 June and 13th Continental afterward.BUT, a General Return of the Main Army dated 19 July 1775 (reproduced in Knight's book) has a completely different regimental numbering scheme (sigh)
