I am trying to see if this is my ancestor. Evidently, Wanmaker was a very popular name back in the 1700's. If this is my Henry who served in the Rev. War as an ensign in Captain Bartholf's Bergen unit, then I can qualify for a membership in the DAR. My Henry was married to Mary Bartholf and he was born in Bergen, baptised in Paramus and died in Pompton Plains in 1828. There is a Henry Wanmaker listed in The History of Bergen County by J.M. Van Valen,NJ Men of the Revolutionary War by Stryker, and was an ensign. How can I make the connection this is my Henry? Can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance.
