My ancestor, Christian Haupt, served in Water's regiment of Dutch Fork Militia during the Revolutionary War. Col. Philomon Waters had raised an upcountry regiment after Charleston fell to the British in 1779, Christian reported to Capt. Wm. Houseal who commanded a company of Newberry County men under Waters. Does anyone have any information regarding the regiment? Thanks.
