I believe the age was 20 and up. The LDS has the muster rolls for Zemplen County and other counties by district in parts of Slovakia and Hungary. Not sure about Galicia. I don't recall seeing any for Galicia. Search the LDS under the following: Katonai nyilvántartási jegyzék.
I have gone through many of the Zemplen County districts and there is some good information contained in these records. You usually see a person enlisted for two consecutive years (maybe longer).
