Sorry Patricia, but the HMS Racoon of the Boer War days isn’t the same ship that was wrecked off the west coast of Ireland 9 Jan 1918.

The HMS Racoon c1901 was a 1770 ton Torpedo Cruiser built 1887 and sold in 1905.
The QSA recipients for her is at http://www.angloboerwar.com/rn_ships/racoon_qsa.htm

The HMS Racoon that was lost in 1918 was a 913 ton Beagle Class Destroyer, built by Cammell Laird in May 1910. She didn’t hit an Iceberg, but ran aground on rocks at the Garvan Islands, off Malin Head, in heavy seas and blizzard conditions.

You’ll find a list of her crew that perished at http://www.naval-history.net/xDKCas1918-01Jan.htm

Best wishes
Jeff
