The 2nd Bn Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) were certainly involved in the Natal campaigns, including the battles of Colenso, Spion Kop & Vaalkrantz and the Relief of Ladysmith.

The first place to look to confirm Edward Pritchard's involvement should be the Queens South Africa medal rolls at Kew.
I would wager he was involved since he had a son called John Redvers! Named I have no doubt after the British commander in the above battles, General Sir Redvers Buller!!
