I have a rather confusing case with this one. I have censuses that say he was born in India. But I presume he comes over to England as he goes into the Military in 1890 aged 29. This was on of the cenuses saying his occupation is Colour Sergeant 45th Derby Shire Regiment. This was registered at 8 Fore Street, Torpoint Antony, St.Germans, Devon and Cornwall in 1890. I know he doesn't die in the war and goes on to have 4 children. But the confusing part is he moves around a lot. When he has Mary she is born in Ireland in 1884, then Daniel James in 1889 in Dum Duma, Assam, India, then Kathleen Maud in 1890 in Ireland again, and then a year later Ralph Pugh in India again.

For someone in the army, I don't understand how his wife was able to move around so much.

What I'm looking for is if Daniel James McMillan was actually Indian (so information on his parents). Also, any military and immigration files on him would also be great.

Thankyou in advance!
