I appreciate this is a (very!) long shot, but I'm looking for a possible case study.

Are any of you aware of a person who spent time in a workhouse and later fought in the Boer War?

If not, are any of you aware of any Boer War veterans who led a particularly interesting life? I would be very interested to investigate their life story if so.

Any information/names would be greatly appreciated.
