Carol, Have you heard anything about the book you requested on Scotish Soldiers in Colonial America? I am interested in this. My 4th great grandfather, John Shannon was born 1754/5, Washington County, MD. He was married to Jane Dunlap. Down through the years our families have been told that John's father served in the French & Indian War and he later on, drowned in a stream of water between MD. and PA. It is unknown who his mother was, but that he did have sibling's. I don't know if John's father was born in Scotland or the Colonies; but the Shannon family originated in Argyle, Scotland. My email address is: Irishlovey@aol.com Hope to hear from you soon. Dorothy
