Does anyone have a copy of the above book Pub: Dobson, David and could let me know what information is on page 28 regarding John UMLACH. I have a citation but have not been able to obtain a copy of the book from our library system.

I know John Umlach was born in Scotland c. 1722 and fought in the French Indian War, moving to Nova Scotia with his wife Isabella MacDonald and three children in 1762. I have not been able to determine how he got to America or where he married. His children, James, John and Isabella were born in Pensylvania in 1757-1759, but I have no documentation for this. I am hoping that the information in this book will help a little. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate you help. This is my first venture into American Genealogy.

Many thanks, Carol

Jacob Job, search. PA Muster and pay rolls book for Militia in 1790-1800 shows Jacob Job serving in 1793 with first battalion of Cumberland Co. Militia. I'm trying to obtain the military record for this man to verify his parent names and other vitals. Can anyone direct me to the correct PA office that would provide copies of such documentation?
Also searching for death cert or valid evidence of his death in Carlisle in October, 1799 (death from typhoid?). He supposedly married a Mary Cougher and only son Jacob was born Dec. 1799. That son (Jacob Jobe) is buried in the Upper Bermudian Lutheran cemetery (Ground Oak ?).

I'm searching for documentation for another son, Jacob Job, believed to be younger than the above. Cannot find any birth record for Jacob in the Nottingham Quaker records. Bill Jobe Journal shows a Jacob Job, born 10th mo. 1773 as s/o Archibald. Need stronger source for DAR purpose. Family history says Jacob went to Carlisle in 1790's; married and died in 1799. Need valid documentation for this activity. Thanks for any help.

Revolutionary War Document

Would anyone know anything about a document "Disavowal of Unpatriotic Sentiments' signed Sept. 1774 in Massachusetts. We are trying to establish a connection of our ancestor to the Revolutionary War for membership in Sons of American Revolution. This ancestor, the eldest son in the family, had fought under two enlistments in the French & Indian War. All his younger brothers fought in the Revolutionary War, some had been officers. I suspect Robert, the eldest brother, had either been too old or injured from his previous battles. But he, along with his brothers, had signed a document called Disavowal of Unpatriotic Sentiments, which I believe would declare his sentiments with the Patriots of the Colonies since his brothers fought on the side of the Colonists. This is probably the only way to substantiate his affelliation with the war effort, but the SAR wants to know more about the document. Can anyone help us out? Thank you.
