Hello.My father's Mother was french,from Montreal,a Bertrand,decent of the General.Her name was Caroline.She had brothers Who worked here in the states and most were Quarry workers,rugged and drinkers,nice hard working men,of whom I remember only one.She married a Bowton who deserted her and her two daughters,Ellen Edna,and I'll ask my Dad,one of Edna's sons,what her name was.I know my Dad loved his Grandmother,one of the few people he has expressed open affection in recall to.She passed on her crepe recipe and the Napoleon lore.It seems to me that French history has tried to erase this lineage,claiming Fanny and Henri's children had no children themselves.Refer to the death bed painting with Fanny and the children for at least a glimpse.I have even suspected a direct line to Napoleon,as my brother and Dad bare a striking resemblance,and my Dad has a cut and dry outlook,and is on the extreme side of tough love.He was born in 1921 and is still travelingand active!
