Hi . I decided to look this man up for myself after years of my moms interest in pancho villa and me getting married to my husband which come to find out from his grandpa telling me and showing me pictures of rodolfo and pancho villa that I can't find anywhere on the Internet ( so its safe to assume the old man is telling the truth) that my husband and his Fierro long line of family are true descendent of fierro himself . I could be wrong but the picture is very much authentic and if I could upload a picture some how of my husbands uncles you might be able to tell the striking resemblance .

Hi Jean, I'm also searching for more information for my daughter. My father-in-law was Trinidad Fierro and according to what he told us, his family came from Texas and he was the 5th generation. Many times he spoke about Rodolfo Fierro and he said his family comes from his family, but we haven't been able to verify it. If you are able to find out more about Rodolfo and his brother, can you please let us know.

Hi Amanda, I want to apologize for not responding to your messege, soon after I received it I stopped my search because I was getting nowhere..just resumed, recently' hoping to get serious about my search. As far as I know, my ancestors' origin is the Aguascalientes, Jalisco area, migrating later to Coahula, then to Texas around 1917-1926.
From the names of your great-grandfather, am assuming that your great-grandmother was the one with the Puente name...what was her first name? Let's keep in touch if you wish, I now have a sister who just moved to Utah where they have millions of records & she's going to help search.
If you would rather contact me through my personal email address, do so @:carmela.morales@att.net.

General Rodolfo Fierro Lopez was born at Charay Sinaloa Mexico
near the City of Los Mochis and he was a big man taller than Pancho Villa, smart and quik, he was good with guns, rifles and knives, he was a very talented man, ride cars, horses, motocycles, train locomotives, and speak very good English served only 3 years as Dorado and he may had killed with his own hands more than 3000 men (vicious criminal as part of "his duties", remember he was the SICARIO for Pancho Villa but he does not have any recognition no estatuas, no colonias, no streets with his name because he executed many soldiers with his own hands. His mother was Mayo indian (not Maya)and she was a domestic worker for the Fierro family one of them was his father, and took the infant away from the mother who last name was Lopez so He was a mestizo, tall, clear eyes, muscular, strong, intelligent, he was a federal official first which tell us that had some schooling,he married a beautiful women and had a daughter but both died after she gave birth. Rodolfo Fierro was the typical Sinaloense and died at age 35.

My Grandfather Salvador Nunez was from Spain. He was born (I believe, not 100% sure yet)in 1869, I don't know the year he came to Mexico. That's all I have on him for now. I'm wating on information on him from an aunt (his daughter). I don't know if he had siblings or if he was married or had children before he married my Grandmother. I know that when my Grandfather came to Mexico when the "foreigners" got off the ship(s) the males were imediately made Mexican citizens and enroll in the army and sent to fight. I don't know when my Grandfather rode with Villa. My Grandfather was missing his thumb nail, him and Villa had a few on them (drinks) and while playing with their guns (I don't remember the name of the game) one of Villa's bullet injured my Grandfather. I'm trying to find Mexican Army enlistment records from the late 1800's to early 1900's. P.S. I wonder if we could be related :)

My late mother, Romana Ruffina Fierro Glotzer, was born in Terlingua Texas in 1918. My grandfather's name was Esteban Fierro, who was from Delicias. I believe Esteban Fierro had some siblings, one of who was "Lalo", short for Laureano.
Esteban Fierro supposedly went off to fight with Pancho Villa when my mom and my tia Anita, but in any event, Esteban never came back. My abuela, Manuela Lozano Fierro, remarried to Manuel Pena, and the family moved to El Paso at some point.
My tia Anita is in her nineties now, and she does not remember much of anything. Does any of this ring a bell?

Robert H. Glotzer (Y Fierro)

PS: I have seen the Wikipedia picture of Rodolfo Fierro, and he looks like me when I was in my thirties, and still had a lot of hair!

My abuela, Manuela Lozano Fierro (Later Pena), had a brother named Marcos Lozano. Marcos Lozano moved up to Chicago, where he worked for International Harvester - a good job at that time. He married an Italian woman named Mary Fernino (Spelling?)

Marcos Lozano died in a motor vehicle accident around 1954 or so, when he was struck by a truck. I believe he had a brother named "Lalo", which I think was short for Laureano. He may have also had another brother named Candelario.

I downloaded a page of Mexican census records that show an Esteban Fierro living near Delicias Ch. around 1930, and he looks about the right age. I will have it scanned to a disk and send it to you.

We should done the Fierro family research a long time ago!

Robert H. Glotzer y Fierro

Hello:

You are descended not only from Rudolfo Fierro, but from General Roberto Fierro, the pilot! General Fierro set an aviation record in the
Thirties by flying from New York City to Ciudad Chihuahua non-stop. He
later helped organize the Mexican air force. The airport at Ciudad Chihuahua is named after him.

My maternal grandfather was Esteban Fierro, but I don't know who his father was. My father Ysabel was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas from the age of 7 yrs old. My family ancestry is a long process, it's too bad the older family members didn't like to talk about the past. I remember my Dad saying that his Great~Great Grandfather was stolen by Indians and then thrown out at 15 because he was so mean. Don't know how to find proof on that? Good Luck in your ancestry, I would like a picture if possible, I would appreciate it.

There are a lot of people with the villarreal surname in Southern Texas and North-Eastern Mexico. Some older relatives tell me that villarreal, my mother's maiden name, comes from a line of sepharadite jews, but I have no direct link to substanciate this. For over 250 years my family has been living in the mexican state of nuevo leon, which borders with texas. There is a city in Southern Spain has the Villarreal name. There is even a Soccer team in Spain with that name. For information beyond the early 1900's you might have to check church records, for the Civil Registry was established in 1872 by President Juárez. No Bernardinos in my family tree, though

Hello, my name is Amanda Burgos. My Great-Grandfather's name was Benjamin Burgos Puente. His mother's name was Martina Puente de Burgos. They crossed the border around 1927, exiled from Mexico as political refugees. I know my great-grandparents were very educated and heavily involved in the revolution (Zapata and Villa). My great-grandfather was a journalist and was invited to interview Mr. Villa on the back of a train during the revolution. It is my understanding, my great-grandfather was very concerned about getting his mother across the border in 1927 because her husband had been murdered and he was afraid they would be coming after her too. My great-grandparents did not
discuss much with their children, and they were afraid the rest of their lives. My family literally has no idea of our family from Mexico, and our family records have been destroyed. If you recognize these names, please let me know. It has been told (in my family) that my great-grandfather and Mr. Villa were close associates. Almost forgot, my Great-grandfather's father name was concepcion. Thanks.

It would be interesting whether more Fierros can take the test.
In this manner we can have a more clear perspective about our ancestry and family tree, as well how we are related to each other.

Cheers

Jesse

Hello,

I am searching for information of the father or family of George Olveda (George Castro) who was raised by his half sister, Claudia Reyes-Castro. She was married to Frederico Olveda. Her father was Jose Castro who was an ammunition carrier for Pancho Via. Jose Castro and Juanita Vasquez had George in the 1920's in, San Antonio, Texas, Bexar County. Some of Claudia's siblings were...Solomon, Geronimo, Pauline and Simon. Claudia and Frederico raised George as a son. Your posting has similiar family names (Olveda, Vasquez). George has searched for info on his family for years (decades). Any info on his father and mother would be extremely appreciated. I only know that Jose Castro had many women in his life. I've had additional postings on this site that might give more detail. Thank you for your time. Dana
