The National Archives has a Mexican War Pension record for Theodore E. Hicks for service in Company A, 16thth U S. Infantry as a Private, and "Old Wars" IC-3502 file 4374; widow Sarah C. WC-15154, 9 Nov 1908, FL.

There is also a Theodore Hicks for service in Company D, 1st North Carolina Volunteers, SC-3803, 19 Apr 1887, Kentucky
