Tom died young in 1916. He was born in PA in 1883. During that lifetime he served in the Spanish American War at age 15. His wilfe was Erma Gibbons who applied for a widow's pension and was granted one in July 1918. The pension record indicates he was in the 29th Inf., yet his grave is marked saying he was in Co. C, USS A.W. Can anyone point me to records about him and/or identify USS A. W. and whether that grave marker would would indicate his having been in the Marines or the Navy.
