I am trying to trace John Charles Williams prior to his 1859 marriage to Sarah Andrews at Trinity Church in Plymouth. I know that he was with HM 10th. I have managed to trace him in various census records and in every one he lists a different place of birth (Middlesex/ Nornorch(?) Norfolk, Cheshunt Herts and Standon Hampshire). I know that his father RICHARD Williams was a builder but that is all. Any suggestions about how I could find out his military record/signing up papers etc I would be very grateful.
