Classification: Query
To find out how to possibly obtain Registrations and some other records [war service in RNR perhaps] from the UK pages of the MARINERS web site at http://www.mariners-l.co.uk/ [they mention and have links to the PRO, Kew, that is now The National Archives, Kew, see below]

Also see the research guide at the National Archives web site at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk , LH side under Military History > Merchant Navy

In both the above, as well as noting records in the UK also look for reference to records kept in Southampton and Newfoundland and note the addresses. Look for a web site or write to them.

There are 4 WWII Merchant Navy Seamen’s medal cards for James Kenny Seamen at the National Archives Documents online web page at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/seamens-m... but it looks like one of the them appears to have 2 records or duplicated in the index, and either he’s or is listed on the CWGC web site - James Kenny, Son of Joseph and Mary Ann Kenny, of Aigburth, Liverpool was killed in the war [22/01/1942 aged 18, serving on S.S. Gandia (Belgium)]
