Can anyone advise where I can find details of the above ancestor's service in the Royal Marines i.e. 1837/8. I've seen it mentioned in other family trees but no proof is indicated. He is missing from 1841 census - possibly at sea - (can only find his wife/son) and he then became a Greenwich Pensioner from c1851 till his death. I've a fair novice at research.
If anyone has this gent in their tree, I would love to know who he married - I have two names - Ann or Mariah.
