Surnames: Serre,
This was from my great great grandma's photo album, no identification except the photographer's mark: L.H. Serre, Utrecht.

I know that LH Serre was active as late as 1910, but not sure how long before that. I googled around but haven't found a uniform quite like this. The closest one I found was said to be from about 1880, but appeared darker in color and lacked the shoulder tassel.

Please help me identify the era of this soldier as nearly as possible. If anything else can be gleaned such as the branch of service, unit, rank, etc., please don't hold back.

For whatever it might be worth, I would assume the soldier was probably from Haaksbergen (Overijssel), Lichtenvoorde (Gelderland), or near one of those, since those are the towns where my great great grandparents' families were mainly from. Haaksbergen more likely, since that's the hometown of my great great grandma, who was actually born in Holland. Her husband from Gelderland was 2nd generation, and so my guess is that he might have less connection to the old country, if anything.
