WWII - 70th Ordance Group w/ 3rd Army
Good Afternoon,
I am hoping someone can give me information on or tell me where I can find a unit history on the 70th Ordnance Group. My father was with this unit in WWII. I cannot get my father's service records as I was told they were destroyed in the fire of at St. Louis. I have 3 sons who continually ask what their grandfather did in WWII and I am heart sick since I cannot answer them. My father died in 1979. My mother has always told me that the 70th was part of the 3rd Army Group.
If I could find a description of what the 70th was/did and what action/battles they saw that would be wonderful. I would have something of my father to share with my sons.
