Frank Bradley, the man who is identified as being in the photo was born in 1866. His father, Sylvester, enlisted as a private in Company D of the 23rd Michigan Regiment of the Volunteers Infantry as Vassar, MI on 12 Aug 1862 to serve for 3 years. He was discharged in Bowling Green, KY on the 10 Feb 1863 having been unfit for duty for 60 days. He died in 1878.

Is this Frank in the military as a young man, wearing his father's uniform, or is this really Sylvester? Sylvester was 35 when he enlisted.
