Thanks for replying. I really don't know if he was Union or Confederate. I found a slip of paper in my ggrandmothers bible stating grandpa Dodson was a doctor in Andersonville Prison. He was born 1813 in North Carolina and died 1878 in Ill. I find no listings of slaves he held. My father told me this family was from the South.
