Ive checked the database of those Confederates who were here and he is not listed in this spelling or any alternate spelling I can think of. Do you have anything that shows if he was a physician in the Confederate armed forces or as a civilian? The database here shows Guards as well as many surgeins who were here. Your saying he was in the Union Illinois just before the war began and again in a Union state following the war, but was here as a Confederate?
