Benjamin Burdick, Company D, 149th Infantry, NY
Hi Kevin
This is great. Wonder if you can find a record for Benjamin Burdick, Company D, 149th Infantry, NY. His tombstone says he died at Andersonville Prison. Family history says he died at Libby Prison in Richmond, VA.
I just recently discovered he was wounded and presumably captured 15 May 1864 at Resaca, GA so his being in Andersonville makes sense. Since another record says he is buried in Alexandria, VA perhaps he'd been moved to Libby at some point.
Appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.
