My ancestor,Oliver Harwood was with the 5th Wisconsin Infintry,Co. I ,and was captured at the Wilderness and was taken to Andersonville and then to Florence,S.C. The story I have tells about the heroic events which took place at these sites in which he kept himself and two other fellow soldiers alive by making shoes for the Rebels and also getting extra food brought into the prison from outside the walls.Makes for a very good story as to what these men endured during the time at these places. If anyone has a name that I could contact, it would be very much appreciated, that is of the 5th. There is more to this as I also have another ancestor who is buried at Andersonville, and I am, in the near future, going to start a campaign to have his remains sent home to a heroes welcome.More to follow as this story unfolds.

I Remain,
Your Servant,
B. Harwood
