How to Obtain Civil War records of ggrandfather, Robert B McIntire
My gggrandfather is buried at the Cave Hill National Cemetery in Louisville, KY. I have the death date and approximate date of his birth, and an unverified clue that he came from Flemming County, KY. I have a few questions. How do I go about requesting his Civil War Records? Did they issue death certificates back then? Did they issue some sort of birth certificate back then? Would these records tell me his date of birth, what county he came from? Information would be greatly appreciated. I may be contacted at gliv@bellsouth.net.
