Does anyone know where a union soldier living in southern Monroe County near the Cumberland River along the area just north of Celina, Tennessee and bordering Cumberland County would have enlisted at?

I am trying to locate my ancestor James "Jim" Young who lived in an area known as Turkey Neck Bend or Otia (sometimes called Blythe) Kentucky.

I do know he served in the Civil War but because his name is so common it has been very difficult to find out.

His brothers/sisters moved to this area from Travisville, Tennessee around the start of the Civil War or very soon thereafter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
IT IS MADE OF MARBLE. THERE ARE ALSO SOME FANCY TOMBSTONES WITH BATTLE FLAGS AND OTHER FLAGS ENGRAVED ON THEM. ONE OF THESE GRAVES IS FOR A DOCTOR THAT WAS IN SERVICE. Garrard sponsored John Loughran's immigration from Ireland to America in 1866. John became a salt agent for the Garrard family. He married Ann Hibbard and had four children. John, Ann, and daughter Nannie are buried on land that may belong to the Garrard family. If you have any information regarding the Loughran family, please respond. Nannie's son Joseph Beverly was my grandfather. I am new to genealogy and am having difficulty discovering much about the LOUGHRANs.

Thank you.
Beverly Loughran Withrow

Does anyone have information on a William T. Young of the 5 Kentucky Cavalry, Confederate? He is listed in Company A as a private in and a private out. The film Number is M377 roll 14. I am wondering if his full name is William Thomas Young, as I am trying to locate an ancestor from Kentucky that went by this name.
KY Soldiers who fought with Gen George Thomas

I have received information that an ancestor fought in the Union Army, mounted Infantry, under Gen George Thomas at the Battle of Look Out Mountain. I have found several sites on the battles he, Thomas, fought in, but can find nothing concerning the men who fought with him. Can anyone give me any leads? I know nothing more about this relative, as to where or when he joined. He lived in KY. coming from Germany in 1849, as a two year old. Thanks

MOSES SPIVEY-7th Kentucky Infantry (Union)

My GG grandfather Moses Spivey served in the KY 7th, Company K. (Originally Captain Statton's Co., 3rd Regiment, KY Infantry) I am looking for information on Moses. I know he mustered in at Camp Dick Robinson on September 22, 1861. He was hospitalized in Louisville KY Sept.-Oct. of 1862.

On June 17, 1864, he transferred to Co. G of KY Volunteer Infantry.

The family always believed he died during the War but, I've found records showing he mustered out October 5, 1864 in Louisville, KY. After that, he disappeared. I can find no record of him after 1864. It appears he did not return to his family in Laurel Co. KY. His wife was Martha Orleana Asher. It is believed she died during or shortly after the War. Moses & Martha's children were raised as orphans by Martha's family in Clay or Laurel Co.

If you have information on Moses or have suggestions on where I might look for more military information, I would appreciate hearing from you.
