I'm trying to find information on my great-great grandfather William H. Gardner. I have sent away for his military records by they said they had to record of him. This is the information I do have:
Civil War Record:
William H. Gardner
Company A, 1st Iowa Calvary, Private
Enlisted: 29 Dec 1863; Warren County, Iowa
Mustered out: 15 Feb 1866 Austin, TX
Native of Michigan
Does anybody know of anyway I could get any more information about his time in the Civil War? I'm stuck at a huge brickwall with him. I've looked into pension records, but I don't think he ever filed for one since he died in 1873 in Arkansas.
