I am trying to acquire any information available on Charles Woston, said to be an Australian American Civil War veteran. Any information whatsoever on his life, family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is that Charles Woston was born in Australia. His residence was listed as Australia; his occupation as a 28 year-old Sailor. He enlisted as a Private on 1/7/1865 and was mustered into "C" Co. Massachusetts 27th Infantry, he was listed as a prisoner of war at Southwest Creek, North Carolina on 3/8/1865 and was exchanged; mustering out at New Berne, North Carolina on 6/26/1865. Any assistance will be appreciated as I want to add him to the Memorial Website www.acwv.info.
