I am trying to acquire any information available on Alonzo Day , said to be an Australian American Civil War veteran. Any information whatsoever on his life, family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is that Alonzo Day was born in and a resident of New Zealand; a 22 year-old Sailor. He enlisted as a Private on 6/16/1864, was mustered into the Unassigned Massachusetts 3rd Cavalry and then deserted while en route to his regiment; date not given. Any assistance will be appreciated as I want to add him to the Memorial Website www.acwv.info.
