Hi,
You may well know about this, but I thought I'd share it with you just in case. It is a source for free Civil War records of Massachusetts soldiers.
I contacted the address below and asked for the records they might have concerning my gg grandfather's Civil War service. I received about 2 dozen pages at no charge. Most of the information I received from the Mass. National Guard was the same as I found on his Federal Pension File but there were some different documents and many details were new to me. The archive has a company by company list of Civil War soldiers in Mass. regiments.
