I am trying to acquire any information available on Thomas Mooney an Australian born Civil War veteran; relating to his life, family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is that Thomas Mooney was born in Australia. His residence was New York City, New York and at 28 years of age enlisted as a Private at Bath on 10/17/1863. He mustered in as a substitute, into "G" Co. New Hampshire 4th Infantry, on the same date. He was listed missing in action at Drewry's Bluff, Virginia on 5/16/1864. No further record, date or method of discharge was provided. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated as I want to add him to the Memorial Website www.acwv.info.
