John Williams - Civil War Veteran

I am trying to acquire any information available on John Williams, said to be an Australian American Civil War veteran. Any information whatsoever on his life, family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is that John Williams was born in 1842 in New Zealand. Residence was Boston, Massachusetts. At 21 years of age he enlisted as a Private at Lisbon, New Hampshire into “I” Company, New Hampshire 2nd Infantry; on 12/2/1863. On 4/30/1863 he was out of “I” Company, New Hampshire 2nd Infantry and into the United States Navy; being discharged on 7/15/1865. U.S. Ships he served on were the USS State of Georgia and the USS Dictator. Any assistance will be appreciated as I want to add him to the Memorial Website www.acwv.info.
