There is a Federal cemetery in Memphis, with one of the highest number of unknown veterans inthe country.
After the war, many veterans who were buried in other cemeteries were reinterred there.
I, too, have a veteran who died in Memphis, and is buried "somewhere" in that city.
The Federal gravesite is as close as I have gotten to an answer.
