After searching, I finally found my Great-grandfather's grave at Nashville National Cemetery. The National Archives kindly helped me with evidence showing because of a pencil notation between 1865 and 1900 his gravestone was engraved with the name "Bretts" instead of the correct name "Butts". My problem is trying to get a response from the Nashville National Cemetery. The Veteran's Admin said to deal directly with them, and I've written twice - detailed letters - and haven't even had the courtesy of an acknowledgement. I know I can go to my Representative, and the Representative from Illinois (where my Great-Grandfather lived), but I'm wondering if anyone reading this might have a better idea? Let me know - Cathy
