Surnames: Harmon Rushing Snipes
My ggGrandfather was wounded on the 1 Jul 1863 at Gettysburg. According to the records from the US National Archives he survived and died from wounds on 20 Jul 1863
Does anyone have any information on where he might have been transported for care? We know he was not taken prisoner so I assume he was moved to some type of a hospital or facility in a Confederate held area.
Lt William H. Harmon Co. I 42nd Infantry, MS
I am looking for a starting point to see if I can locate his grave. His servant returned to MS to report his injury but the information of where he was evacuated and died has been lost over the generations.
